It has been an accomplishing year so far for Claire Crooks, Director of the Centre for School Mental Health.

In the late winter, Claire was awarded the Outstanding Brentonian Award from her Brentwood College high school in British Columbia. Claire was recognized as an alum who has made outstanding contributions in his or her chosen profession and/or to society. She attended an award ceremony and reception in March with her family to receive her award.

A few short weeks later, Claire was recommended for appointment to the rank of Full Professor at Western. Promotion and the granting of Tenure is based on a sufficiently strong record of performance by the candidate in teaching, research and service.

Most recently, Claire was named as a recipient of a Faculty Scholar Award at Western. Established in 2005, the award recognizes the significant and recent scholarly achievements in research for those nominated and selected.  Recipients of this award demonstrate an international presence in their discipline and are considered all-round scholars.

Congratulations, Claire! These recognitions are all well-deserved.
